321audio decides how your data is used (we're the "controller"). We collect as little as we can. For anything about your data, write to support@321audio.com.
In short
- No ads and no tracking cookies. We count visits without cookies.
- Paddle takes your payment. We never see your card number.
- lift works offline and never sends your music, projects or samples anywhere.
- Problem reports are off until you turn them on, and are deleted after 90 days.
- We don't sell your data or share it for advertising.
- Ask us any time for a copy of your data, a correction or deletion.
This website
- Hosting: Cloudflare processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver the pages and protect them from abuse.
- Visit counts: Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits, pages read and the sites that send visitors here. It sets no cookies, doesn't follow you across sites and isn't used for visitors in the EU.
- Our own counts: our server records a few events, like a page view, a click on a buy or demo button, or playing a sound. Each stores only the page, the campaign tag in the link (like
?ref=instagram), the site that sent you, your country, phone or computer, and a random visit number. No cookies, no IP address, no name or email. - In your browser: the random visit number is kept in that tab until you close it. A campaign tag or discount code from a link is kept for 30 days, so a later purchase can be credited to it.
- Feedback form: stores your message, its topic and your country, plus your email only if you give it.
Checkout
Paddle.com, our reseller and merchant of record, handles your payment and the order. Pages with a buy button load Paddle's checkout script so it opens at once. We receive your name, email, country and order details (including any campaign tag or discount code), never your card number. We use them to deliver your license and show it in your account.
Your account
- Sign-in: Clerk runs accounts, with a cookie that keeps you signed in. With Google or Apple, we receive only your name and email from them.
- What it holds: your email and name, your licenses, which apps your account can access and the Macs they're on.
- In your browser: the account page remembers which products you had (no email, no keys) so it opens faster. It's cleared when you sign out.
- Accounts aren't meant for children under 13.
Emails
- We send your license after a purchase and other service emails through Resend. Sign-in codes and password resets come from Clerk.
- Product news and offers are opt-in only, from your account. Buying doesn't subscribe you. Every message has an unsubscribe link. We record your choice and when you made it.
- If you write to support, we keep the conversation to help you.
Activation
lift works offline and doesn't send your music, projects or samples anywhere. A paid app contacts our server (api.321audio.com) only to activate or deactivate, and to check its license at most once every 30 days. That sends:
- your license key;
- a machine ID: a one-way hash of your Mac's hardware ID, never the ID itself;
- your Mac's name (like "Studio MacBook"), so you can tell your activations apart;
- the app and its version.
We keep these while the activation exists, plus a record of refunded or disabled licenses, and count activations by product, version and country. Your name and email from the order are written into the license file on your Mac, so the app can show who it's licensed to.
321hub
- Sign-in: with your 321audio account through Clerk. 321hub keeps its sign-in in your Mac's Keychain until you sign out, remove the Mac in your account, or don't use 321hub for 400 days.
- What we keep: for each Mac (up to 10), your account ID, email and name, the machine ID, the Mac's name, the 321hub version and when it was first and last used.
- Where it connects:
321audio.com,api.321audio.com, Clerk and Cloudflare storage for some downloads, plus Google or Apple only if you sign in with them. - Moving licenses: to limit how often a license moves to new Macs, we note each new Mac's machine ID for 30 days.
- Feedback: includes the app, version, kind of feedback, what you wrote, your account email and country.
Problem reports
They're off until you turn them on in 321hub. Then it sends the product and version, plugin format, DAW name, macOS version and chip, the machine ID, the error and when and how often it happened. Folder names, drive names and email addresses are removed. Reports are deleted after 90 days.
Why we use it
- To give you what you asked for (a contract): your account, order, license, activation, 321hub and support.
- Our legitimate interests: cookieless visit counts, crediting sales to campaigns, keeping the site and licenses safe from abuse. You can object.
- Your consent: problem reports, product news and offers, and the email in the feedback form. You can withdraw it any time.
- The law: records we must keep, for example for taxes and disputes.
Who processes it
- Cloudflare hosts this site and our server, counts visits and stores downloads (privacy policy).
- Paddle runs the checkout, the payment and the order (privacy policy).
- Clerk runs accounts and sign-in (privacy policy).
- Resend sends our emails (privacy policy).
- Apple, Google and PayPal, only if you pay or sign in with them.
These providers may process data outside your country, mainly in the United States. Where the law requires it, the transfer is covered by their data protection terms, such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Account, licenses and activations: until you ask us to delete them, except order records we must keep by law.
- 321hub sign-ins: until you sign out or remove the Mac, or after 400 days unused.
- Problem reports: 90 days.
- Feedback and support emails: as long as needed to help you.
- Visit counts: they don't identify you, so we keep them for our statistics.
Your rights
You can ask us to confirm what we hold about you, send you a copy, correct it, delete it, or stop using it for something you object to, and you can withdraw consent at any time. Write to support@321audio.com. We reply within 15 days. Deleting activation data deactivates the license on those Macs. You can also complain to your data protection authority, such as the ANPD in Brazil, your local authority in the EU or the ICO in the UK.
